BT plans 110Mbps broadband roll-out
It will be rolled out in March next year, the company confirmed, with UK internet service providers able to rent lines for £21.54 per month.
The cost to consumers, however, has yet to be decided, although it has been revealed that a £75 installation fee will apply.
A BT Spokesperson said to IT Pro: “You’re going to get 100Mbps, it’s not an ‘up to’ service. If the network is flooded, you get a prioritised 20Mbps per user.”
Earlier this month, BT encouraged people throughout the UK to join in the race for super-fast broadband in the country, by telling the broadband provider why they deserve speedier connections.
Known as the Race to Infinity, the competition will see the winning areas being upgraded in 2012 at the latest.
