Cambridge Wireless will host Future of Wireless International Conferences at St John’s College today (June 27th) to discuss how networks can cope with the demand for mobile broadband.With Apple introducing its new technology iCloud alongside other similar offerings from Amazon and Google, speakers from Huawei, Nokia and Microsoft will discuss how next-generation wireless technologies can allow for future pressure.Dr Soraya Jones, Chief Executive of Cambridge Wireless, said: “Everyone in the wireless value chain has a part to play in shaping the new mobile ecosystem that will overcome the increasing stress being placed on our wireless networks while delivering an enhanced experience at a cost that users are prepared to pay.”But the demand for mobile broadband isn’t just from businesses, as more Brits enjoy the benefits of shopping via their mobile phones.The latest IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index showed an 18% increase in online spending via the web from May 2010 to the same month this year.Mobile phone companies O2, Vodafone and Everything Everywhere also joined recently to help more advertisers, marketing partners, retailers and banks to create mobile phone versions of their products.
